Disused and derelict local authority garages previously occupied the brown field site at Gullet Wood, Watford.

These were demolished to make way for four low maintenance single bedroom local authority houses of unique design that included sedum roofing. The structures were mainly of sustainable timber construction supported on mass concrete strip foundations.

The project was secured under a Design and Build form of contract won by Grehan Contractors Ltd. Contractors Design Services were pleased to provide structural engineering services in connection with design and specification the load bearing elements, foundations, underground drainage and hard landscaping for car parking, etc.
