The Grade 1 listed St Pancras Chambers, formerly the 300 bedroom Midland Grand Hotel, was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and completed in 1876. Now developers, Manhattan Lofts Ltd are remodelling the first three floors to form a modern hotel whilst the remainder will become 67 apartments.
Contractors Design Services were appointed by contractors, Galliford Try Construction Ltd, to provide structural engineering services in connection with the detail design and temporary works for the installation of some fifteen lifts, new stairs and service cores, etc. and by Bar West Fabrications Ltd to design steelwork connections.
