Geotechnical Engineering

Geotechnical engineering is the branch of civil engineering concerned with the engineering behaviour of earth materials. It uses the principles and methods of soil mechanics and rock mechanics for the solution of engineering problems and the design of engineering works.

As well as providing geotechnical engineering solutions for main contractors, CDS also works alongside subcontractors and ground engineering specialists to engineer and develop cost effective design solutions for challenging geotechnical problems. A link to our case studies is located below.

Geotechnical engineering design services provided by CDS include the following: –

  • Underpinning
  • Ground Anchoring
  • Soil Nailing
  • Slope Stabilisation
  • Micro Piling
  • Sheet Piling
  • Earth Support
  • Ground Water Control
  • Piling
  • Reinforced Earth

*We are an associate member of ASUC (Association of Specialist Underpinning Contractors)
