The Grade 1 listed St Pancras Chambers, formerly the 300 bedroom Midland Grand Hotel, was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and completed in 1876.

Developers, Manhattan Lofts Ltd remodelled the first three floors to form a modern hotel with the remainder becoming 67 apartments.

CDS were appointed by contractors, Galliford Try Construction Ltd, to provide structural engineering services and the design of temporary works for the installation of some fifteen lifts, new stairs and service cores, and by Bar West Fabrications Ltd to design steelwork connections.
